My very first figure competition, BodyRock 2004 held on July 10 at George Mason University in Fairfax, VA.  I was the first figure girl to pose.  I was so nervous!  It was much bigger than I thought it would be but I had a fantastic time and got to meet some wonderful people with the same interest as I.  I placed 16th out of 24 which I didn't think was bad for my first competition.  There was some tuff competition there with some girls that had been training and competing for years.  Everyone looked fantastic!

My second competition I worked on building up more.  My muscles did get bigger and looked much better but I didn't have time to cut like I should have.  I tried a different carb depleting and loading the last week and kept my calories up around 1200.   The carb depleting and loading is very tricky.  I'm still trying different diets to see what works best for me.  The judge said that I needed to work on widening my back more and cut down on my carbs during off season so that it will be easier to cut for the next competition.  I guess I shouldn't had done the type of carb loading pre comp that I did.  Trial
and error is the only way to know.

Yohnnex Competition in Richmond, VA

My third competition was at the Mountaineer in Boone, NC at UNC State. I did the Master's division of  Figure at this one.  I placed 2nd. I was at 15% body fat.   I got a beautiful trophy that I’m very proud of.  My lats are finally showing up in my back. I've been doing alot of dead pulls and pull ups.

Here is my before and after pictures.  The before picture was taken August 2003 and the the after picture was taken above at the Conquest Contest in Richmond, VA on August 21, 2004.  I had been weight training for 8 months.

Jennifer had me running to keep myself in good shape during off season.  I never have ever thought of myself as a  runner, but that's the best cardio for burning calories so I've been doing it and at first, I really didn't like it at all.  I've entered a few charity type races and I'm better than I thought I was and I'm now enjoying running.  I entered three races in the past two weekends, one in Wytheville which I almost canceled out due to being very sick.  I ended up placing 2nd in my age class.  The following weekend, I entered another race with my husband in Tazewell, VA called YoungLife Heritage Classic and won the overall fastest female trophy.  I was shocked!  Very, very happy, but surprised.  Here is the article in the paper.
http://www.bdtonline.com/articles/2005/07/03/sports/02sunracestory.txt .  I lost my Rio player while I was running and someone took it, sigh.... I was looking for my Rio player when someone broke the news to me that I was the first women through the finish line.  That brightened up my day.  I was pretty sad about my Rio player falling off at the start line and even more sad that someone would have taken it and not returned it.  I always run with my Rio player and it felt like part of me.  I take it to the gym when I weight train, in the woods cross country running, everywhere.  After the race, I was still sad about my Rio player and my husband went and bought me a new one.  He's soooo sweet.... For now on, it will be strapped to my arm so that it want fall off.

I never thought I would ever be competitive at running all though I always try to do the best that I can do in whatever I do.  Two days later after winning my first overall trophy, I entered another 5K race in  Radford, VA on July 4th.  I thought that since it was a Fun /Run I would just have fun with it since I run at least a 5 K in the morning anyway for my cardio.  I ended up winning the overall female fastest runner trophy at this race as well.  I'm very, very pleased with how well I did and I plan to get faster in the near future.  I was training just to keep my weight down originally and entering races for fun, but I'm going to take it more serious now and up my speed time and train harder for the bigger races.  I'm taking a break from competing in Figure for now.  I may enter one figure contest in the fall.  I'm still training with weights 4-5 days per week, 2-3 body parts a day.  Right now I'm having fun with my running and the more I run, the more I can eat which I so love to do.  I also want to start spending more time ballroom dancing which is my favorite hobby.

I was asked to be a Greeter at the Monica Brant Fitness Classic in Fairfax, VA.  I had a great time and got to talk with some pro's and have my picture taken with them.

The one and only, Dexter Jackson.  He won 1st at the Arnold Classic 2005 and was a guest poser at the Monica Brant Fitness Classic.  I love watching him pose.  He's so smooth with his posing and so polished.   It was great to finally meet him in person.

August 31, 2005

This past Saturday Aug 27th I ran in another 5K race in Greensboro, NC.  I placed 4th out of 33 in my age class.  I beat my fastest time and the weather was so very hot and humid.   I'm use to running in colder weather and in the early morning but I did well.  It was a rolling 5K around UNCG and Greensboro College.  My time was 24:33.

Sept. 17, 2005

I've increased my weekly mileage so I decided to try my first 10K race.  It was called the O. Winston Link 10K race.  The course started at the Green Cove Station in Damascus, VA and went up to White Top Mountain and back all on the Creeper Trail.  I placed 1st in my age group.  Very fun race.

Dansini 1/2 Marathon, Myrtle Beach SC-February 17,2007
1/2 Marathon Details
Great coarse and I  beat my fastest time by two minutes so I met my personal goal.  I did the 13.1 miles in 1:56.  I hope to do this 1/2 Marathon again next year and hopefully the temperature will be warmer.  It was record cold for that time of year at the beach, around 24 degrease.  I had only trained for 3 weeks for this event due to an illness and doctors orders.  I wasn't sore at all afterwards and was back working out two days after this event.
